Over the past couple of months, K-12 teachers have been engaged in an internal review of our Bible curriculum. This week, from Wednesday to Friday, we have an external review team from the Society of Christian Schools in BC (SCSBC) here to visit classrooms, review course documentation, speak with teachers, and provide commendations and recommendations for our Bible program. They will be speaking with our senior students to receive their feedback on our Bible/Christian Perspective learning experiences. The team is also open to receive direct feedback from parents regarding our K-12 Bible curriculum and program. If you wish to speak with a member of this team, please reach out to Darren Spyksma, one of the co-leaders of this team, for a face-to-face conversation, phone call, or email correspondence. He can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org
We will share a summary of our Bible Review with you later this Spring.
We are pleased to announce that we have hired Mrs. Jessica Rand to teach Elementary French for the 2019/20 School Year. Jessica has one child in our Kindergarten this year, and she comes to us with previous French teaching experience. Miss Sarah Allan will continue to teach high school French, but hiring Jessica for the elementary side provides more freedom for Sarah to take on high school teaching responsibilities. So blessed to have two experienced teachers working together on our French program! And, thanks be to God for His continued provision of quality, Christian teachers for our school!
Earlier this month, the Board approved the 2019/20 Tuition Schedule. The schedule below reflects a moderate increase over 2018/19, an effort to keep maximum tuition rates below $10K for another year, and a commitment to reduce the tuition jump from grade 7 to high school. The Board has also decided that there will be no capital (building) fee required of families in the 2019/20 school year. That said, a capital campaign launch is coming soon, and the Board would encourage each family to consider what they might give, above and beyond tuition, when we, Lord willing, break ground this Spring. Stay tuned!
Please note that at times dates are changed, so always use the online calendar (not the PDF) for final planning and double-checking. 🙂
