We know the new year just began, but we’re already thinking about next September! Thus, re-registration season begins. There are some very important changes to our process this year – here is everything you need to know.

ALL the Forms

To make life in September easier on everyone, we are now bundling the information we usually ask parents for in the fall into our re-registration package. Thus, each student’s package will include a Technology Use Consent form, an Information Release Consent form, and a Volunteer Application and Information form (more on the volunteer form below).

Keep in mind that you will be filling out this year what will be applicable for the next school year on these forms. Your child’s next-year grade level is listed at the top of each page of the package to remind you.

Volunteering

For insurance purposes, we now require all volunteers to fill in an application that includes one or two character references along with the usual Criminal Record Check. We also require a volunteer to have taken a Child Abuse and Neglect Orientation – information as to how to do that will be included on the form.

Volunteer drivers will also need to fill in the Volunteer Driving part of this form and submit a Driver’s Abstract each year.

Student Information Verification

We have converted our student contact information into a new and improved structure in our student information system (PowerSchool). Therefore, we ask that you very carefully check over each child’s information this year to be sure we have everything in the right places and in your preferred contact order! 🙂 You can also indicate which phone number is your preferred number for us to call in an emergency situation.

When and How

We will be sending re-registration packages home next Monday, January 18, 2021. All of your children’s forms will be in one sealed envelope and will come home with the youngest child in each family.

Forms must be returned by Thursday, February 4, 2021. Forms that go home with elementary students can be returned to their classroom teacher. Forms that go home with high school students can be returned at the Main Office.

If you need help…

Instructions are included on the forms, but if you need help, do feel free to call your friendly office staff and we will be happy to assist! (250-564-0707)
