Parent Resources for Raising Children in the Digital Age
Safer Schools Together (SST) is an international leader in violence prevention and intervention. They are committed to creating positive, safe, and caring learning environments for students, staff, and parents. They do lots of work in the area of digital threat assessment and support of digital responsibility.
Parenting is hard, and the rapid rise of technology and social media use in the lives of their kids makes it harder. To help, SST is extending complimentary access to “Raising Digitally Responsible Youth – A Parent’s Guide”. The guide is designed to help introduce Parents/Caregivers to leading social media platforms, video games, and relevant trends that are either being used already or have the potential to be used by their children. This guide is full of tips, how-to’s and definitions for the most widely used apps – including TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram and more.
Faith-Based Resource
If you are interested in engaging with your children in a faith-based conversation around the place and use of technology, video games, and/or social media, you can also check out Axis – whose mission is to “connect parents, teens, and Jesus in a disconnected world by tackling tough topics together, one conversation at a time.”
