Online Safety and Digital Well-being Parent and Caregiver Information and Support Session
When: Thursday, April 20, 2023 from 6:30 – 8:30pm
Where: Cedars Christian School Foyer
Who: All parents/caregivers and interested community members (please note that this is an adult only event as some content may not be appropriate for all ages). This will be relevant for parents/caregivers of students in Kindergarten – Grade 12.
Do you have questions and concerns about online safety and digital well-being for your child? Would you like to connect with experts and other parents to share and learn together?
If so, please come and join us for an interactive and informative session where we will talk openly about the challenges of parenting in a rapidly changing world. We will look at everything from suggested guidelines for screen time, to safe and unsafe behaviours, social media apps and what you can do to connect with and educate your child at every age and stage about these important issues.
We will watch a short video, have a guest presentation from members of the Prince George RCMP, and then conclude with guided discussion sessions with parents/caregivers of children similarly aged in order to hear and share our experiences and concerns. There will be resources to take away and, of course, some snacks to keep us going.
Please RSVP your attendance by completing the short survey here and join us for this really important discussion. For more information, please contact Jessica Akehurst at jessicaa@cedars.bc.ca
