
In Speech Arts, Cedars “Represents”!
The Cedars community was well represented at the Speech Arts & Drama Honours Performance this past Saturday night. Anya N and Grade 3 teacher, Mrs. Heather Fisher, were both asked to perform, and in addition the many Cedars performances at the gala, the following Cedars students were honored:
For their “Taming of the Shew” scene, Marella H and Michaela P received the Dramatic Scene Duo trophy.
Kate B earned book prizes for her Shakespeare Solo, and Narrative Poetry and earned a trophy for her lengthy recitation of “The Raven” earning the Spoken Verse/Intermediate Poetry award.
Josh P and Michaela P received book awards in the categories of I Like This Poem and Sacred Reading, respectively.
Gracyn B and his poem partner earned a trophy for Poem for Two Voices, a real accomplishment because of the many excellent partner poems shared at the festival.
Michaela P was recognized for her excellent work in her 8 entries in the festival with an Adjudicator’s Choice award.
Mrs. Toninato’s 5th Grade Class earned the Choral Speaking trophy for their powerful sharing of a passage from Matthew.
