Historically, Cedars has provided space for Public Health recommended Grade 6 and 9 immunizations. Our practice is to distribute information packages to all families with students in Grade 6 and 9, collect consent forms at our main office, and pass them along to Public Health nurses. Cedars does not collect or maintain immunization records of K-12 students. Grade 6 immunizations will take place on October 4, 2021. A date for Grade 9 immunizations has not been determined.
On immunization days, only those with signed parental consent are called to the immunization clinic. From time to time, Public Health nurses follow up with parents who do not return consent forms. At Cedars, respect is demonstrated to those who choose to have their child(ren) vaccinated and to those who do not.
With the advent of COVID-19 vaccinations, several parents have expressed concerns about pop-up and/or planned vaccination clinics on-site. At this time, schools are not required to provide space for vaccination clinics, and Cedars Christian School has chosen not to be a site for COVID-19 vaccinations.
