High School Chapel Series – Invitation to Parents/Caregivers

Further to the letter sent home to parents/caregivers of high school students last week, here are the speaker bios, topics, and dates for upcoming chapel series on Biblical Sexuality. Parents/Caregivers welcome to attend!

Tuesday, May 14 @9am (Elem Gym) – Reclaiming Sexuality (Rebecca McLaughlin via Zoom)

Rebecca McLaughlin lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts with her husband and three children. She holds a Ph.D. in Renaissance Literature from Cambridge University and a degree in theological and pastoral studies from Oak Hill Theological College in London. She speaks internationally, and is the author of “Confronting Christianity: 12 Hard Questions for the World’s Largest Religion” (Crossway, 2019), “10 Questions Every Teen Should Ask (and Answer) About Christianity” (Crossway, 2021), and “The Secular Creed: Engaging 5 Contemporary Claims (TGC, 2021).

Wednesday, May 15 @12:30pm (Elem Gym) – Why Choose a Biblical Sexual Ethic? (Dawn Isaac)

Dawn Isaac and her husband, Chris, have been a part of Cedars since 2008 with all of their four children graduating from the school. She is an ordained Associate Pastor at Lakewood Alliance Church in Prince George, and has been doing youth ministry for the last 25 years both as a volunteer and pastor. Dawn will be offering some responses to the question “Why Choose a Biblical Sexual Ethic?” based in Genesis 2, Song of Solomon 8:4, Philippians 4:8-9 and other passages.

Thursday, May 16 @10:15am (HS Foyer) – People To Be Loved (Dan Hoffman)

Dan Hoffman is Senior Pastor at Fort George Baptist Church in Prince George. He is married to Nikki and they have been blessed with a daughter and three sons. He earned his M.Div from Regent College in 2006 and pastored for a year in South Korea before returning to Canada and his roots in Prince George. Dan is a Cedars alumni (part of Cedars’ first grad class!), has a passion for preaching, and longs to see the glory of Jesus expand in the PG area. Dan enjoys reading, playing board games, getting to the gym as often as possible, and hanging out with family and friends. He will be sharing insights from author Preston Sprinkle’s book by the same title.
