In December, we started our Grab & Go Breakfast Snack initiative as part of our Feeding Futures program in the high school. We plan to expand this program to our elementary classrooms on January 15th. Three times a week (M-W-F), all students will have access to fruit and healthy snacks in the foyer (high school) or classrooms (elementary).
The heart of this initiative is to provide a non-stigmatizing way to address food insecurity for some students, and to promote learner readiness. We encourage you to have conversations at home with your children regarding your own expectations around food selection and good stewardship of the food that you provide for them at home and in packed lunches.
