Cedars Students Shine in Speech Arts and Drama

Cedars students excelled in the recent Prince George Speech Arts and Drama Festival, and several were honoured at the “Honours Performance” featuring some of the adjudicator-chosen favourites.

Gracyn B., Grade 4, received top honours for “Lyric Poetry” among all the festival entries for his beautiful rendering of “The Wolf.”

Daniel L., Grade 5 entertained the crowd with “The Dark Avenger,” a poem performed as a scene with Logan Martin, earning them the “Poem for 2 Voices” trophy.

Lastly, Mrs. Fisher’s Grade 3 class shared their evocative poem “Mosquito in the Cabin” with such excellence that audience members felt itchy just hearing it! We are excited to have the “Choral Speaking Trophy” return to Cedars once again!

If your student has a dramatic bent or could use help learning to express themselves with confidence, let your teacher know you’d like more information about Speech Arts and Drama opportunities! And congratulate Gracyn, Daniel and Mrs. Fisher’s 3rd Grade class on a job well done.
