“From the outset, we have been committed to taking this project one step at a time, seeking value and evaluating options carefully. We have spent the summer communicating with engineers, the city and sub-trades; establishing current code parameters and fine-tuning costs. We are grateful to the Society for their patience and support through this process. The encouraging words and many prayers have been appreciated. We continue to move forward trusting the Society will be rewarded with quality infrastructure to facilitate our goal of creating discerning disciples of Jesus Christ.” – The Building Committee, August 27th, 2019
It is very likely that you have been asking (or have been asked) many questions around the status of our Growing Together Building Expansion Project this summer. In addition to the above statement from the Building Committee, the Board and Administration would like to share the following praise items and progress reports:
- After much prayer and work on city checklists, our riparian permit has been granted by the city. Praise God!
- We have been able to secure access and permitting for gravel – three minutes from the school. This is an important first step in preparing the site for a foundation.
- City requirements for the purchase of a section of Preston road and development of a cul-de-sac at the entrance of our property are complete and being reviewed.
- Engineering and renderings are weeks away from completion. Some elements of our proposed “Phase 2” need to be included in Phase 1 and we are pursuing higher building standard code compliance.
Stay tuned for early Fall engagement of Society. The Board continues to support the Building Committee moving forward with the plan to, Lord willing, break of ground in the 2019/20 school year.
